What Not To Wear offers a Makeover to the NomineeWhat Not To Wear is a Reality TV Show. It is narrated by Clinton Kelly and Stacy London. Stacy and Clinton first meet with nominators. The show secretly follows and videotapes the nominee for two weeks. The nominators with Stacy and Clinton then meet the nominee. During the surprise visit, she is offered at $5,000 Visa debit card to buy a new wardrobe. She must also shop by their rules which are tailored to her age, body shape, and career. She must follow these rules when shopping for new clothes.
If the nominee accepts their offer, she comes to New York City for a week of evaluation, shopping, and hair/make-up styling. On the first day to the studio Stacy and Clinton critique her wardrobe. As they go through her wardrobe, she tries on three outfits. She explains what she likes about each outfit and why it looks good on her. Stacy and Clinton then show an appropriate outfit to the nominee. On the second day, she visits Mexx, New York & Company, Ann Taylor, Filene’s Basement, Searle, H&M, Bloomingdales, and Macy’s. They comment on the nominee to let viewers know if she is following the rules. On the third day, Stacy and Clinton meet with the participant to tell her if she bought clothes based on their rules.
