Real Renos features Renovation Projects
Real Renos is hosted by a general contractor Jim Caruk. It is filmed in Toronto, Canada. It reveals what goes on when homeowners aren’t home. It features residential construction projects.
Jim Caruk and his crew use detailed plans to build custom homes. He is building a $250,000 cottage from scratch. He takes the homeowner through every step of the construction process.
It is almost halfway through the project and outside waterproofing is done. The home’s interior wall studs are in place. The roof and siding are complete.
Electrical wiring, PVC plumbing pipes, and Central Air system is in place. In the morning Jim Caruk and his crew are already on site. They continue to work on the house.

Old Pine flooring is already delivered and ready to install. A spray-foam contractor then comes in to install insulation. Spray-foam insulation helps keep the heat in and the cool out in the winter.
In the summer, it works to keep the cool in and the heat out. Jim Caruk and his crew then work on tiling and the main bathrooms on the second floor.
They measure, cut, and install channel siding and beadwork in the bedrooms. Next day a landscaping contractor of Metropolis Landscaping arrives on site. The cottage is situated above the lake level.
The plan is to create a few terraces to get a view of the lake. Large rocks are used to elevate the existing soil level. An excavator is used to move rocks. The show continues with the next client’s project.
