Privacy Policy
Websites using Google Ads to advertise their products or services on our website send a few cookies to your computer or a high-end device (e. g. Apple iPad) which help identify your web browser. Google uses the DoubleClick DART cookie to display the Google Ads on our site.
What are Cookies?
A cookie is a text file which contains numbers, letters, and special characters. The two types are a persistent cookie and a session cookie. A persistent cookie enters through your web browser into the cookie folder on your computer’s hard drive. It stays in that cookie folder, which is used by your Web browser, after you close your browser (e. g. Mozilla Firefox 5.0, Google Chrome 12.0.742.122, Opera 11.50, Windows Internet Explorer 9, and Apple Safari 5.0.5). A session cookie disappears after you close the browser. DoubleClick’s ad-serving and paid search listing (“DART Search”) products also use the DART cookie. The DART cookie is a persistent cookie and consists of the name of the domain (ad.doubleclick.net), the cookie life, and a value. DoubleClick’s DART technology generates a unique string of characters for the “value” portion of the cookie.
The DoubleClick DART Cookie
If there is a DoubleClick cookie in your cookies folder, it is most likely a DART cookie. Google uses the DoubleClick DART technology to deliver advertisements to our site. DoubleClick DART products set or recognize a persistent cookie when ads are displayed. A DART cookie gives us information on the number of unique users the Google Ads were displayed to, how many users clicked on our Google Ads, and which Google Ads they clicked on. DoubleClick also uses web beacons to advertise its products and/or services online, including ad serving. Web Beacons are lines of HTML code that are used in web pages. They are called Clear GIFs (Graphics Interchange Format) or Pixel Tags. Web Beacons are used with cookies.
