Giada De Laurentis



Everyday Italian is hosted by Giada De Laurentis which premiered in 2003. The show is focused on traditional Italian Cuisine with an American flair. Herb-Crusted Lamb and Chocolate-Ricotta Pie are some of the recipes she used on the show.



It is taped at 24 frames per second for a cinematic feel. It is filmed on location in Malibu and the Pacific Palisades in California. A series of rented homes were used as studio sets instead of the traditional sets.



All the cooking on the show is taped live on set during an initial run. The close-up shots are filmed during a second run. Giada De Laurentis often features family members on the show. Her husband appeared in one of the episodes.





Her mother, aunt, brother, and sister also appeared in several episodes.

Sometimes they worked with De Laurentis in the kitchen.

Giada’s aunt Raffy was featured most often on the show.

She brought recipes for such specialties as Chestnut Stuffing and Turkey Tonnato.

It is one of the most popular shows on the network.


The success of the show led to the publication of three cookbooks:

  • 125 Simple and Delicious Recipes


  • Giada’s Family Dinners


  • Everyday Pasta


The show was nominated for two Daytime Emmy Awards in 2006 and in 2007. Giada De Laurentis won a Daytime Emmy Award for outstanding lifestyle host. The series also won the Daytime Emmy Award for outstanding lifestyle program in 2008.



This show also gave rise to other shows starring Giada De Laurentis. Her other shows are Giada’s Weekend Getaways, Behind the Bash, and specials including Giada’s Italian Holiday featuring chef Mario Batali.
