Ellen DeGeneres Show was awarded Best Talk ShowThe Ellen DeGeneres Show is a talk show hosted by a stand-up comic Ellen DeGeneres. It is distributed by Warner Brothers Television. The show premiered on September 8, 2003. The show presents interviews with celebrities, games with people in the audience, funny monologues by the host and music performances. It won 11 Emmy Awards in the first season and 12 Awards in the second. Some of the awards were for Best Talk Show and Talk Show Host. The sixth season premiered in High Definition. The show was renewed up to 2011. It has about 8.3 million viewers per episode. It is one of the highest-viewed daytime shows. “The Riff Raff Room” was created for people who come to the show but don’t fit in the studio. From the premiere Ellen did a dance instead of the opening monologue.
The dance became a part of the show. During the show she dances in the aisles and over the table. The main area of the set has two red arm chairs with a plasma screen between them. Ellen sits in the right chair while the guest sits in the left. The plasma screen displays graphics related to the current segment or guest. On the left of the main area is a lighted wall. It slides open for Ellen’s entrance at the beginning of the show. In Season 5 the show went back to using a professional announcer. Season 6 continued on the Warner Brothers Lot.
